We treat every child with respect and dignity in order to provide an
environment that is focused on excelling and learning. The
Discovery Program enables all of us to enjoy our time together and use
our class time wisely. The following are the measures that are
taken if choices are disruptive or disrespectful.*
Redirect:
A redirect is a verbal warning that requires a student to change a
behavior to detour distraction.
Refocus:
A refocus requires a student that has continued a certain
disruptive or disrespectful behavior to fill out a form stating the
reason for refocusing and the choice that he/she will make next time to
ensure success.
After
the fourth refocus: A child is sent to the principal if
this stage is reached.
*There
can be loss of recess, apology letter composed and/or payment of tickets
to accompany any course of action.
