Class Meeting

Each morning the class gathers in a circle on our area rug. We go around the circle and say our number. The number tells how we are feeling that morning. The number 10 indicates we are terrific. The number 1 means we are not having a good day. We can be any number in between. If we wish, we can explain why our number is low. This gives the others in the class the opportunity to know how each of us is feeling each day. This gives us the opportunity to be gentle with those who might need a little extra kindness. Some mornings we also have a prompt to help us get to know each other. Some of the prompts are: Name one thing you did this weekend. What is your favorite movie? What is your favorite activity? What age would you like to be? What animal would you like to be? These questions help us use our imagination and help us get to know each other. Class meetings usually last about ten minutes.
