Welcome, I have developed this site to share what I love, spreading the
joys of juggling. Teaching juggling has been my passion for the
past 15 years of my 27-year career as a physical education teacher at
Fremont School.
I learned
to juggle in a "Teaching Elementary Physical Education " class
at the University of Northern Colorado. Just so happened my aunt,
Doris Steffy, taught the class. Most of us in the class were
highly skilled athletes, her purpose for our learning to juggle, was for
us to experience the frustration of learning a new physical skill.
Learning to juggle taught me that lesson and a whole lot more!

Aunt Doris
In March 1990, I was diagnosed with leukemia and
received a bone marrow transplant December 1991. Juggling was an
activity that kept my mind and body focused during this difficult time
of my life. I spent a great deal of time teaching my physical
therapist how to juggle as well as entertaining some of my fellow
patients.
Soon after returning to my teaching duties I was invited to attend a
juggling workshop presented by Dave Finnigan, author of "The
Completer Juggler". The workshop was held the week following,
the International Juggling Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. I
attended both and from there my juggling teaching has taken off.
The JIVE
Team (Juggling Is Very Educational) was established
in the 1998-99 school year. My JIVE Team involves 40-60 students
in grades 3rd-8th. The JIVE Team has represented Fremont School in
a positive, productive way. Students have opportunities to develop
academic, social, leadership, and physical skills. This web site
contains information about our JIVE Team, scheduling juggling
performances, my juggling curriculum, the educational benefits of a
juggling program and a variety of collected juggling stuff.
