I had the opportunity.  To observe many different teaching styles and programs that other experienced teachers are using.  I have taken much have what I have seen others do; added some new ideas to create my own full day program at Washington Elementary.  This is my second year in this position and I hope to continue and improve this program. My goal is to provide your children with a curriculum that is balanced with wonderful, fun, and safe learning activities.

My family and I are relatively new to Canon City, but as home owners with children we have quickly become involved in many activities throughout the community.  My husband has been working as a P.E./health teacher at the high school for four years.  He has also just added science to his curriculum this year.  We have two children attending Washington.  Our son is nine and in fourth grade this year.  Our daughter is six and is in first grade.  They have both acclimated very well to our school culture.

I know that without the support of parents, my efforts to teach will not be nearly as successful. I am very excited about this school year, as I am sure you are as well.  Sending our children to kindergarten brings many different emotions from parents and students.  This is a very special time for you and your child, together I know we can make this a great year for learning, growing, and making new friends.
