Plagiarism is a serious offense.  People have lost credit, jobs, titles, positions, and most of all respect due to plagiarism.  Plagiarism is a violation of copyright, personal and professional integrity.   There have been several controversial cases regarding plagiarism lately.  To avoid any misunderstanding, surprise, or a spot on 60 Minutes, we want to make this issue as clear as possible.
