When:  October/November time frame

Where:  Lincoln Elementary School Library

Who:  6th grade students who are interested in running for a student council office (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer).

Each classroom (3rd grade - 6th grade) will select two room representatives after all of our officers have been elected.  The representatives will need to come to all of the student council meetings.  The times and dates of weekly meetings will be determined at the first meeting of all the officers and room representatives.

GOAL:  To inspire leadership and enthusiasm in the students in regards to their school.  To create ownership by giving the students a voice via their room representative or student council officer.

Note:  Student council members are role models within Lincoln Elementary and the community.  All student council members (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Room Representatives) will demonstrate positive and appropriate behavior.

Maryann Smith and myself, Karen Patrick are the Student Council Sponsors for the 2005/06 School year.  Should you have any questions regarding Student Council please contact the school, 719-276-5830 and ask to speak to either of us.
