The CCMS Instrumental Music Program is open to any student who has had previous experience playing a brass, percussion, or woodwind instrument in 5th and 6th grade. Our classes provide an opportunity for middle school students to continue to learn, understand, appreciate, and perform the many different types and styles of music to a increasingly higher degree of musical proficiency. While the main function of the bands are performance, there is also a teaching emphasis in the areas of theory, history, appreciation and listening. With this approach the students can realize a well rounded instrumental music education.
