Instrument Care, Repair and Storage

Care & Repair

Students will receive a "refresher course" in proper cleaning care

and maintenance of their instrument during 1st quarter.

It is once again each students responsibility to keep their instrument clean.

This will also help keep the instrument in good playing condition and hopefully save on repair costs.

Parents are expected to help get their child's instrument repaired in a timely manner

to ensure continued successful progress in class.

PARENTS, please send a note with your child if you need to send their instrument in for repair.

The note should state when the instrument will be taken in for repair

and expected time of completion.

If a student comes to class without their instrument and no note of explanation,

they will lose 10 daily participation points.

Instrument Storage

Each student will be assigned an instrument storage bin.

It is the responsibility of each band member to keep their instrument in the assigned bin

and leave all other instruments alone.

Mrs. Nolan will not tolerate games or pranks played on any student

by moving instruments to other bins.

All students are responsible for properly putting away instruments

and music (in folder or notebook) at the end of each class.

Yes percussion players, this means you too!

Instrument Cases

Students who will be using school owned instruments (including percussion players)

will be required to sign a usage agreement.

All instruments have been cleaned and aligned/adjusted by Cross Music before given to the student.  The cost of general maintenance will be the responsibility of the school district.

The agreement will state that parents will be responsible for the cost of repairing any damage

caused by recklessness, or disregard of proper handling by their child during the school year.
