Welcome to the Florence High School Music
Department. We hope you will
find the information on this site useful. Let's introduce our faculty.

Mr. Michael Nolan
Instrumental, Vocal Music and Music Technology
Mr. Nolan is currently in his 25th year of teaching. He graduated from
the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's in Music
Education. He is a member of CMEA, CBA and EFEA.
In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Nolan is an active musician. He
currently performs with the Dwight Shaw Big Band, and has previously performed with the
group"Burgundy". Mr. Nolan also serves as the Director of the Southern Colorado Community
Concert Band based in Canon
City.
Mike is married to Stephanie and has two children, Nicole and Michael.

Mr. David Catt Guitar
Mr.
Catt graduated from Pikes Peak Community College, earning a degree in
computer hardware.
When
he was in the Air Force, het met his wife, Val. They have been married 30
years, have five
children
and 5 grandchildren. David and Val own the Main Street Expresso and Pastry
Shop in
Canon
City, where David has his "Cool Catt Studio", teaching guitar
lessons to over 70 students
per
week.

Mrs. Heather Martinez Vocal Music
Mrs.
Martinez conducts the "Husky Choir" for the last 2 years. She
currently attends CSU-Pueblo
pursuing
a degree in Music Education. She has also conducted the Fremont Civic
Choir and served as
Director
of Music for Christ Episcopal Church in Canon City.
The
Community Christian Chorale annually performs Handel's Messiah.
Heather
is married to Tom and they have four children, Thomas, Ashley, Bryan and
Fox.
