Memorizations

Throughout the year, there are memorization assignments.

First, we practice saying the memorizations together five times in a row.

Students should practice at home, also.

On the third day, students can try to recite the memorization perfectly in front of the class. Students can try only once per day, however.

Here are the memorizations:

1. "i before e, except after c, except when it makes       a sound other than e."

 

2. Linking Verbage

 

To learn your linking verbs you’ll see

Most linking verbs are forms of  be.

Is, was, am then make it four,

were and are will add two more.

 

Has been, have been, had been, may have been,

Should be, could be, would be, might have been,

Might be, shall be, will be, may be

(Learning these may drive you crazy.)

 

You may think this lesson’s done,

But it’s not; there’s more to come.

All linking verbs aren’t forms of be

There’s seven more to learn, you see.

 

Looks, seems, tastes, smells, feels, appears,

And don’t forget becomes, my dears.

You know them now; the lesson’s done
