Introduction

Dear Parents,

I am delighted to have your child in my class. Here is some background information about myself:

·       Grew up in Edina, Minnesota

·       Graduated from Colorado College 1973, Bachelor of Arts, Religion

·       Graduated from Colorado College 1974, Masters Degree, Education

·       Taught at Harrison School since 1978

·       Have taught 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th  grades

I love to challenge my students to reach beyond what they ever thought they could do. My goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning, and help students to develop those crucial writing, reading, mathematical and research skills to give them confidence to achieve any goal in life.

I will send home weekly grade reports on Mondays starting the third week of every quarter, and I will continue to send weekly reports until the end of the quarter. Students will have until Friday of every weekto complete any listed missing assignments.

Also, I will send home weekly AR reports. (Accelerated Reading). Accelerated Reading is 25% of the reading grade. Your child should be reading 30 pages a day in their Accelerated Reading book.

Feel free to contact me through a written note in the planner, or through the school at 276-5970. Make sure you ask the secretary to inform me if you leave a voice mail message, because I have no way of knowing that otherwise, because there is no light on our phones to let us know. After school you can contact me directly in my room at 276-5982.

Please look further in this website for other ideas and ways to help your child have a successful school year.

Thank  you for your support!! It makes all the difference for your child.

Ms. Neumann
