Grade Determination:                                         Grading Scale: (%)  

        Tests:                                        40% of final grade                   90 – 100          A

        Quizzes:                                    35% of final grade                   80 – 89            B

        Homework/Classwork:            25% of final grade                   70 – 79            C

                                                                                                              60 – 69            D

                                                                                                  < 60                  F

 

Classroom Standards & Expectations:

        ·         At all times - Show respect for yourself and for others

        ·         Be prepared for class

        ·         Participate in classroom activities

        ·         Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings, and

        ·         Work until dismissal

 

Homework/Classwork Expectations:

        ·         Heading:   at the top of the paper and should include your name, the date, page  

              and problems assigned.

        ·         Problem:   the original problem needs to be written down on the paper.

        ·         Vertical Format:   Whatever work that needs to be done should be in a vertical

               format.

        ·         Quantity:   all of the problems assigned should be completed.

        ·         Work:   work must be shown for credit

        ·         Accuracy:   final answers and work shown should be correct(ed) prior to the

               homework check

        ·         Late Work:   late work will not be accepted with out teacher approval.

 

Course Requirements:

        ·         All work must be completed in pencil (Departmental Standard)

        ·         Notes, HW, etc. will be kept in a (3) ring binder

 

Progress Reports:  A progress report will be sent home with each student on the following dates: 

Feb. 2nd, 18th; March 1st, 19th; April 12th, 26th; May 10th, May 27th

 

Parents:  Please be looking for a progress report on the above days, I will not be requiring the students to return these progress reports signed, as I have provided advance notice of when they will be sent home.  Also, if you would like me to mail you a copy of the progress reports, please send self-addressed stamped envelopes for each of the above dates and I will be more than happy to mail you a copy of the progress report on these dates.
