Homework is given everyday, set a place and time for assignments to be completed. Be sure you have supplies on hand! You will need:

  • a quiet place to work

  • pencil and paper

Spend time together:  Play, draw, listen to music.  Run through the sprinkler, go on a hike or a picnic, go swimming!  There are so many ways to have fun together as a family. Nurture your children with good food, good words, and good fun!
Let the teacher and school know if you have had a change with your address or phone number!  It is important that the school is able to locate you in case of an emergency!
READ everything your child brings home!  It will save you and the school staff time! Remember, I have a classroom full of students with parents to communicate with.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact me immediately.  Have a place where your child places school information so you can be updated weekly!
Ask how you can volunteer! I love having parents in my classroom!
Learn what the school expectations are for behavior and responsibility.
Help your child be organized!  Set-up a space for them to work.  Expect your child to have  weekly spelling packets and daily math links to work on each evening. REMEMBER!  Friday Folders!  Look for them and expect them!

Get a Library Card:  Make frequent trips to the public library.  Read to your children, with your children, and have them read to you.

Play word games:  spell words to each other, use the online dictionary link above to read the word of the day, do word puzzles together.
