ACCELERATED READER

Accelerated Reader is a program that allows students to read a book at their reading level and then take a comprehension test on the computer.  Depending on how they do, they will accumulate points that can be applied to the certifications listed below.

Certification Requirements

Ready Reader

Student must accumulate 5 points on books read to, with, or independently.

Independent Reader

Student must independently read 3 books, level 1.2 or higher, and accumulate 10 points. 

Rising Reader

Student must independently read 3 books, with a 1.6 or higher book level, and accumulate 10 points.

Super Reader

Student must independently read 3 books, with a 2.0 or higher book level, worth at least 1 point each.

Advanced Reader 1, 2, and 3

Student must independently read 3 books, with a 3.0 or higher book level, worth at least 2 points each.

Star Reader 1,2, and 3

Student must independently read 3 books, with a 4.0 or higher book level, worth at least 4 points each. 

Classic Reader 1,2, and 3

Student must independently read 3 books, with a 6.0 or higher book level, worth at least 7 points each.
