Welcome
Parents!
My
name is Ms. Kristi Kunselman and I will be your child’s high school
Physical Education teacher this quarter. Because I will be spending a significant amount of time with
your child each day, I want to share a few things about myself as well
as some of my expectations in the gym and/or classroom.
This
is my forth year in the district teaching Physical Education.
I earned my degree through classes at Colorado State University,
Pueblo Community College, and the University of Southern Colorado.
I graduated in the spring of 2000 from USC with a Bachelor’s of
Science in Exercise Science & Health Promotion with a double minor
in Education and Coaching. I
have enhanced my education by earning a Master’s of Arts in Education
through Grand Canyon University.
Because
I love my job, I live by my teaching mission everyday.
My mission is to develop a positive rapport with my students
physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
I want to raise each child’s self-esteem and self-image by
teaching the importance of physical activity.
I feel that by teaching the importance of being prompt, being
prepared, being polite, being productive, having a positive mental
attitude, and by participating I can better prepare these young adults
for their futures. I want
my students to reach their highest potential in everything that they do
in life.
I
try really hard to send home a progress grade report every Friday of
class. This provides an
accurate, updated measurement of how your child is performing in my
class. Please ask to see
this report on a weekly basis to remain on top of your child’s
progress.
I
want you to know that I take my job very seriously and would enjoy any
involvement and support you can give your child in school.
You will be hearing from me again in the future and I hope to see
you at Back to School Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences, or at
extracurricular activities. Feel
free to contact me at any time to voice concerns, comments, etc.
I look forward to another exciting and productive year!
Sincerely,
Kristi
Kunselman
