My name is Dyle Knifong.  I am a counselor at Cañon City High School.  This is my 6th year at CCHS and my 31st year of teaching/counseling.  I moved to Colorado from Missouri after early retirement.  What a GREAT move!!  My wife and I enjoy the climate and mountains of Colorado.  

I am taking a class on web-design and wanted to share some information about the counseling program at Cañon City High School.

A little personal history.  I have been married to my wife, Debbie, for 31 years.  We have three sons that have also moved westward, however,  none of them live in Colorado.  

 There are four counselors at CCHS and we divide the total students population by the first letter of their last name.  We try to divide the student evenly between the four counselor so occasionally we will have to change the alphabetically placement of students.  I currently serve students with the last letter of their name beginning with letters A through F.

Besides my duties of serving individual students, other responsibly include Financial Aid workshops, local scholarship coordination, the liaison for Senior to Sophomore and Dual Credit college programs and  HOBY selection.
