Visual Schedule

Children who have difficulty following verbal directions or remembering steps in an activity may benefit from a visual schedule.

Visual schedules

  • teach routines

  • prepare students for transitions between activities or locations

  • provide a concrete way to teach time

  • provide a concrete way to teach sequence

  • clarify verbal information

  • provide practical supports for school and home
