Dear Families,
Children make the
best progress in academic and social areas when the family and
school work closely together. Practicing the goals and objectives as
listed on your child's Individual Education Plan will insure success
along his academic continuum.
Teachers and paraprofessionals are
expected to introduce and practice those goals and objectives
described on your child’s IEP.
Additional “pull-out” sessions and adapted materials are
the responsibility of teachers and paraprofessionals.
Parents are expected to read and practice
sight words each night with their student. A math homework page comes home several times each week that
should be completed with parental assistance. Because education is a partnership between home and school,
students make the most progress when both sides are actively
involved.
Students are expected to take home their
home-school folder each night with the appropriate materials.
There
are many web sites designed to give families information about their
child's special needs. Some to explore
