For their website the students will develop a letter of introduction similar to the one below:

Letter of Introduction

American Design Drafting Association Instructor

Caņon City Chapter

 Dear Parents,

This letter will serve as an introduction and to give some general facts about our CAD training at Caņon City High School.

This is my 33rd   year of teaching at Caņon City High School.  I have taught at CCHS for so many years that I have had the parents of many of my students in class.  Perhaps you are one of them.  My undergraduate degree is in Industrial Education from Adams State College '71. My Masters Degree is from the University of Southern Colorado '78.  I have 68 additional hours from CSU, and UNC.  The American Design Drafting Association grants my Professional Drafting Certification.  The highest degree I have is the degree of success our students have in the drafting program.  The students enjoy acquiring employable skills in computer aid drafting and blueprint reading.

We work hard on our drawings to build basic skills and we have fun doing it.  You will have drawings sent home to post on the refrigerator or family bulletin board.  You can ask your son or daughter what he/she learned by doing the drawing.  You can help support your student's continued success by praising him/her from week to week.  You will receive a weekly grade report to sign and send back.  This report will detail all assignments and record the success your student has had.  Please write comments on the grade reports returned so I will know how you feel.

I know what it is like to be a parent.  You don't hear enough about what your student is doing in high school.  I have three children who have gone through the Fremont School District RE-1 system and graduated from CCHS.  I am very proud of what we have going in our community.  No, it is not a perfect system.  It is a very good school system.  If you are having trouble understanding something let me know.  We will work to resolve the problem together.  My home phone is 275-6173.  My school number is 276-5935 or leave a message in the main office.  The school FAX is 276-5950 if you want to FAX a grade sheet or a special message.  My current e-mail address is geesamm@cchsweb.org.  If you would like to be on my distribution list send me an e-mail.   I also have a web site at http://cchsweb.org  Once there click on the ADDA button.

I look forward to meeting you.  Stop by my classroom, give me a call, e-mail message, or come to our special parent night called "Back to School Night".

You should get a grade sheet each Friday we are in school.  If your son or daughter does not bring home a grade sheet each Friday, either he or she has lost the sheet or I'm dead.  That's no grade report sheet on Friday, then ask when and where is the funeral for Mr. Geesaman.

 Thank you,

 Mike Geesaman
