This
letter will serve as an introduction and give you some general
information about me and the first grade at Mountain View Core
Knowledge. My name is Kari Holcomb and I have the honor of
teaching your child this year.
We’re
off and running on what I’m sure is going to be a terrific school
year! My hope for this year is to stay in close contact with you. Therefore, please come to expect that your child’s green
take-home folder will come home everyday.
It may or may not have anything in it, but I want the children to
get into the habit of returning it to school every day.
Please sign the homework slip inside the folder stating that your
child completed the homework. Also,
you may use it as a way of communicating with me.
I really welcome and appreciate notes, e-mails or phone calls
from you and will address any of your questions and/or concerns.
I will also send home a weekly newsletter to keep you up to date
on our classroom events.
This
is my 7th year of teaching grades, first, second and third
grade. My degree is from
Colorado State University of Pueblo.
I taught the last four years in Colorado Springs, Academy School
District #20 and two years before that I taught in Pueblo School
District #60. I am the
fourth generation to be born and raised in Canon City.
I attended Canon City schools from kindergarten through high
school. My husband, Rob and
I have been married for three years and are currently building a house
in Pueblo West.
I
am excited to be teaching at Mountain View and look forward to getting
to know you and your children. Thanks
for the great new class of first graders!
If you need to get in contact with me, I can be reached at school
275-1980.
