Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday.  Students will bring home a take home folder everyday.  Inside the folder will be a book to read to the parent(s).  Your child will have read the book at school first and through re-reading it with you he/she will gain fluency and confidence in his/her own abilities.  Please return the book in your child's take-home folder the next day.

Students should also study their spelling words every night.  A list of the words will come home on Monday and the final test will be given on Friday!  Please have your child study at least five sight words each night. The ability to read high frequency words (sight words) quickly is necessary for fluent reading.

Math homework will be assigned occasionally.  However, it is important to practice basic math facts with your child.
