Homework

Homework is assigned every day.  Students will bring home a book to read to an adult. Children  will read this book at school first and through re-reading it with you will gain fluency and confidence in their own abilities.  They will also have sight words and spelling words to practice. The ability to read high frequency words (sight words) quickly is necessary for fluent reading.

Math homework will be assigned several days a week.  This is an important part of the Everyday Math program and has two purposes.  First, it allows students to practice skills that were introduced in class.  Secondly, it keeps you informed.

The assignments are recorded in the Homework Log inside your student's Home-School Folder.  Please sign the log after your child completes the assignment.
