COMPUTER BASED INSTRUCTION

Our first research project of the year is on the American Revolution.  Students choose from a list of important figures of the revolution or from a number of battles which took place during the war.  In groups of one or two students, they use internet resources to fulfill a number of research requirements.  When this is completed, the groups construct a powerpoint presentation, which they then share with the class via a computer projector.

The instructor grades the presentations according to the assignment rubric, which can be viewed on the 'Assignments' page of this site.  An upper level Canon City High School computer drafting class then rates the presentations based on the same rubric.  The top four rated presentations are given prizes, which are sponsored by the American Design Drafting Association.  View past winners by selecting them from the selection below.

The first place show describes the lifetime accomplishments of our first President, George    Washington.
