After Colleen greets you with her "look" (see "class picture"), the tour will continue through the waiting area.  From here you have several options.

If you choose the door to the left then you would enter the mini-lab.  This room is used for smaller, more direct instruction classes.

Also, you can walk past the door and turn left to go down the hall with all of the class quilts.... or you can turn right and head towards the lab.

If you chose left, then you will first come to a multi-purpose classroom on your left and bathrooms (not pictured) on your right. If you chose to go right, then you will arrive in the lab.

The next thing that you will come to down the hall, is the Discovery room.  This is where students are introduced to Garden Park.  Discovery is a 6 week course that is required for every GPHS student. This is what a typical work station looks like in the lab.  The red an blue cups are to put on top of the computer when a student has a question so that his or her arm does not fall off while they wait for one of only 4 certified staff.

In the Discovery room you may or may not find students working on their class quilt after school is out.  This is the end of the tour for the left hall. If you look just to the right of the lab, you will see a student break area.  There are soda and food machines as well as a microwave.  Since there is no scheduled lunch break, the students can eat during academic periods or on breaks.  There is no food or drink in the lab.

Above the student break room you will see a quilt.  This quilt will change every six weeks.  Each new discovery class creates a quilt that represents their class.  After it has been up for six weeks, it is put in the left hallway (see above) and it is replaced with the new classes quilt.

If you go up the stairs behind the current quilt, you will find another student break area.  This area gives the students a place to relax or play a game during breaks.

If you return to the lab, you will find another hallway to the left.  In this hallway you will find student work such as stories and paintings.  Here is one of the students paintings.

If you turn right in this hallway, you will go into the kiva.  This is a large room where district meetings and graduations are held.  This room is also used for many community events.

If you go back to the hallway and turn left in, you will find more class rooms.  I'll spare you the agony of  having to view all of them.

Finally, there is the staff meeting room. I'm not going to even begin to try and explain where this is because hopefully you will never have to go there. Look, here is the staff and a student in a meeting!  Does the excitement ever end?
