At Garden Park there are basically three types of classes that are taught. The first type are called “pull-out” classes that are taught in a classroom away from the main computer lab.   The next type, that are called roads scholars, are experience based courses, and held mostly outside of the school.  The final, and most basic type of class at Garden Park is the online course work.  When a course is assigned, the student can log on to his or her class using a password.  When they are logged in, they are taken to a screen that looks something like this.

Of course they won’t have this many math classes, but they will be able to click on any of the classes that are displayed here.  They can be assigned classes such as English, geography, economics, or most anything.

After they have clicked on a class, a menu of topics will be displayed.  Here is an example of what the menu looks like.

Semester 2 Midterm

As you can see, there are reading sections and then assignment sections.  Each of the reading sections has several resource links built into the lesson.  So if a student runs into a sticking point, they have several options, one of them being the assistance of a teacher.  When a student clicks on a submission, this is what they see. (Notice the “click here” highlighted at the top of the page.  This is so the students can flip back and forth between the lesson and the work as needed)
