| COMPUTER APPLICATIONS –
Most of you have, or will use a computer – but do you know how to make
it work for YOU? Computer Applications is the place to bring it all
together. After completing this course, you will be able to utilize
Microsoft Office to enhance what you can do in all of your subjects (ie
science, math, English, history, etc.).
ADVANCED COMPUTER APPLICATIONS – (Pre-requisite:
Computer Applications) Whether you’re college bound or entering
the business world, Advanced Computer Applications will provide the
necessary skills. Learn advanced features and develop proficiency in the
integration of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, Publisher, Photo Draw, and FrontPage). Students will
also have the opportunity to earn Senior-to-Sophomore credit as well as
a state accredited certificate – prepare today for tomorrow’s
future!
DESKTOP PUBLISHING –
(Prerequisite: Computer Applications) Desktop
publishing emphasizes the computer as a creative tool and is designed
for students who wish to explore the graphic design potential of the PC.
Learn the creative use of graphic tools, typography, layout and design,
and the production of graphic publications using state of the art
software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel
WordPerfect, and Quark Xpress.
MULTIMEDIA COMMUNICATIONS –
(Prerequisite:
Computer Applications) Have
fun interacting with music, graphics, and animation while improving your
communication skills. Knowing how to communicate effectively is the key
to success. Do you know how to use the "tools" to communicate?
Learn how to add dynamic multimedia components to presentations and web
pages using the software packages Corel WordPerfect, Corel
Presentations, Macromedia Director, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and
Macromedia Flash.

| CAREER DEVELOPMENT
& TRAINING (CDT)
is a student’s guide to life after high school. CDT
was developed by business people and educators and offers
self-assessment, career guidance, job skills, and work ethics as part of
its curriculum. Employability
and job seeking skills are addressed to the point that students can form
goals and actions plans for their life after high school as well as gain
skills they can market to employers.
PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY
EXPERIENCE (PaCE)
is a school-to-career program which provides students the opportunity to
gain first-hand experience in an area that is related to their career
choice, as well as gain first-hand experience and marketable skills.
Cooperative work experience options include a paid work
experience, internship, apprenticeship, volunteer or shadow experience
in jobs that are closely-related to career interest areas.
This on-the-job training combined with classroom instruction enables
students to gain quality knowledge and skills so they will be
productive, educationally motivated citizens ready for further education
and the workforce when they leave school.
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS
is a required course for all freshmen. This course is designed to
provide freshmen students with the skills necessary to adapt to the
transition from middle school to high school. If students are
expectations, then they will be better prepared to understand the
