Dear
Math Students,
As your math teacher, I would like to take this opportunity to
introduce myself. My name is Barbara Cuppy and this is my 26th year in
teaching mathematics. I
earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern
Colorado (now Colorado State University-Pueblo) with a major in
mathematics and a minor in Geology.
I earned my Masters degree from the University of Northern
Colorado in “Interdisciplinary Studies”.
I taught math at Excelsior Junior High School in Pueblo, Colorado
for three years. I then
took an eight year break from teaching to be a stay at home mom.
Following that break I taught part-time for two years at Cañon
City Junior High School. I
am currently in my 21st year at Cañon City High School.
I have taught a variety of courses from Basic Math through
Calculus, and am currently department chair.
As a student in my classroom, you can expect a safe setting and
structured learning environment. I
will strive to help you become the best math student you can be.
I will work on skills and organization, teach theory, and guide
learning on a daily basis. I
will make myself available for extra help before and after school. I look forward to meeting you.
I can be reached at 1-719-276-5939.
Sincerely,
Barb
Cuppy
