Join me for a tour of Room 110!

The learning facilitator in room 110 is Pauline Carochi who has been accused multiple times of having a "kindergarten" classroom. My students tell me that the room makes them feel like it is "home"! And I do want them to feel at home.

We use tables rather than desks so that we have lots of room to do hands on projects and so that we can easily form study groups.

The only place in the room that is off limits to the students is the teacher work area. I tell the kids that I won't get into their locker if they don't get into my desk.

Lucky teachers get good teacher assistants like Heather G. who spend one block a day working for them. Heather does have permission to use my desk because she's a life saver.

One of my pride and joy spaces in my room is my picture board. I have hundreds of pictures my graduating students have given to me. The best part is that so many of them come back to see me and to let me know how they are doing and what they are doing. Every day this board reminds me of why I love to teach.

The nooks and crannies of my room are filled with items that students have given me, including the multitude of angels in my angel collection that watches over all of us from above.

One of the bulletin boards is reserved for Student Council where they post their pictures, their calendar and their goals for the year. The 2005-06 StuCo is operating under the theme of "Team StuCo: hear us roar!"

This view of the north wall shows the multitude of big and important awards won by the Speech & Debate team.  Also, on the left side of the countertop, you can see the refrigerator and the microwave that I cheerfully share with my students who spend so many hours slaving away at being excellent.
