Who:  This is Mrs. Wiebers and Mrs. VanIwarden.

What:  They are Service Learning facilitators. 

When: They’ve been the after school Service Learning facilitators since it started in  January 2001.

Where:  Washington Elementary

Why:  The Colorado Trust Foundation granted the Recreation District money for after school programs. Adults interested in being facilitators were asked to apply.  Both Mrs. Wiebers and Mrs. VanIwarden enjoy being around children.  They believed this would be a great opportunity to get to teach children outside their regular curricular content areas.  They both understand that the learning from service projects would be wonderful life long learning.  What could be better than to help their students achieve these skills?
