Description:
The PaCE Program is a two-facet
offering involving a seminar portion as well as an actual work
experience. PaCE seminar is designed to instruct and study various
workplace skills through guest speakers, video and instruction. The work experience provides students a reference to apply,
practice and evaluate various workplace skills.
Materials:
Students
will maintain a journal of topics covered in the seminar portion of the
course. Students will
update their portfolios with experiences from both their workplaces and
from seminars.
Objectives:
Students
will:
1.
Obtain a work experience aligned with each student’s career
goals, which is appropriate to their background, knowledge, skills and
abilities.
2.
Gain work experiences where the student will learn new skills.
3.
Gain knowledge and understanding a various workplace skills,
interpersonal skills and expectations through seminar courses.

COURSE GOAL:
It is the intent of the
Canon City High School Professional and Community Experience (PaCE)
program that each student has a successful and meaningful work
experience enhanced by seminar courses.
As a result of these experiences students will hopefully gain a
competitive edge in the job market, which in turn may launch them into a
rewarding career field or provide a checkpoint to reevaluate their
career goals.
