Current Events

Current events summary paragraphs are a weekly homework assignment in science class.  We will us the step up to writing format in order to write our summary paragraphs.

Topic Sentence

1. identifies the text

       (Include title, author, date, or other important information)

2. uses a verb that communicates the

    purpose of the original text

3. finishes with the main idea of the text

6.      Write your summary on a separate sheet of paper.  Your topic sentence will be the first sentence in your summary.  Put your details into sentences to make the rest of your summary.
